At ARA volunteers play an important role in meeting the needs of a wide range of people with alcohol, drug and gambling dependencies.  We offer a variety of volunteer work opportunities at our offices in Bristol, as well as roles at the Cafe.

We are often looking for committed enthusiastic people who share ARA’s approach and values.

Kitchen Porter

Your role is to provide a clean, safe and well organised working environment for the  kitchen and other areas.


Your role is to plan, prepare and cook a range of foods for the daily menu, within food safety standards.

Cafe Service Assistant

Your role is to provide excellent service to all customers by dealing quickly, efficiently and competently with their orders.
